People’s Interpretations of Agents’ Attitude from Artificial Sounds Expressed by Agents with Different Appearances

چکیده
We conducted experiments in which participants were presented with artificial sounds that were intended to convey the attitudes of three different agents: a MindStorms robot, an AIBO robot, and a laptop PC. The participants were then asked to select the correct attitudes based on the sounds expressed by these three agents. The results showed that the participants had higher interpretation rates when the PC presented the sounds, while they had lower rates when MindStorms and AIBO presented the sounds, even though these agents expressed completely identical information.

How do Robotic Agents’ Appearances
An experimental investigation of how the appearance of robotic agents affects interpretations people make of the agents’ attitudes is described. We conducted a psychological experiment where participants were presented artificial sounds that can make people estimate specific agents’ primitive attitudes from three kinds of agents, e.g., a Mindstorms robot, AIBO robot, and normal laptop PC. They ...
متن کاملPoint of view of the agricultural information system towards organic products: the central district county of BoyerAhmad
Different approaches with regard to environmental protection and mitigation of negative impacts of development plans have been proposed during past decades. Organic agriculture as a production system is one of these. It applies minimum amount of artificial fertilizer, pesticides and additive hormones input. Taking into consideration Iran’s specific geographic, economic and social conditions, th...
متن کاملDevelopment and use a Novel Combined In-vivo and In-vitro Assay for Anti-inflammatory and Immunosuppressive Agents
Contact hypersensitivity (CHS) mouse model induced by 2, 4-dinitrofluorobenzene (DNFB) is thought to be a T helper 1 (Th1)-dominant response and used for investigating anti-inflammatory and immunosuppressive agents. However, it is hardly used for screening large-scale drugs because of the large number of animals and complex mechanisms involved in-vivo. In this study, we focused on whether T lym...

متن کاملAn Analysis to Wealth Distribution Based on Sugarscape Model in an Artificial Society
In this paper an artificial society is being assumed as a multi agents system. A sugarscape model consisting of a cellular landscape of resources is used to form an interaction among the agents of the population. In the model, agents find the resources to survive. They are supposed to move and search and because of this movement, an evolutionary social behavior will develope. From model analys...
